Welcome to Wahoo’s Adventures, where outdoor excitement now extends to traditional fly fishing in the pristine trout waters of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whether you’re new to fly fishing or a seasoned angler, you’ll find tranquility and challenge in this skill-based experience that deepens your connection to nature and enriches your understanding of the local ecosystem. With expertly guided trips and engaging, comprehensive lessons, we promise an unforgettable adventure for every skill level.
WADE TRIPS:
- Frequency: Daily
- Start Time: 8 AM or 1PM
- Duration: Guided trips are 4 or 8 hours.
- Temperature Requirement: Above 45°F
- Immerse yourself in our tranquil mountain waters year-around as our experienced guides lead you to the best local trout waters.
- In season (between April and October), our 4-hour and 8-hour journeys, start at 8 AM with another 4-hour trip available at 1 PM. From November to March, 4-hour trips start at noon.
- Float trips (coming soon) available in-season to reach the remotest of our local trout waters.

- Frequency: Daily
- Start Time: 9 AM or 1PM
- Duration: Lessons are 3 hours.
- Temperature Requirement: Above 45°F

Our lessons, tailored for all skill levels over age 13, provide a comprehensive introduction to fly fishing, year-around.
- From April to October, join us at 9 AM or 1 PM for a 3-hour session that covers everything from casting
techniques to understanding trout behavior.
- In the cooler months (November to March), lessons begin at noon, offering a unique winter fishing experience.
What to Expect:
- Personalized Attention: Lessons offer small group sizes to ensure individualized guidance. Guiding is limited to two clients per guide for wading.
- Scenic Outpost Meeting Point: Gather at our charming outpost, the starting point of your adventure.
- All Skill Levels Welcome: Lessons require no prior experience; our guides adapt to your skill level. Guided trips do require experience or a lesson.
What to Bring:
- Personal Gear: Warm Over-Ankle Socks, Drinks, Change of clothes. For dry wading, no Jeans or cotton; Fleece, wool, quick-dry preferred.
- Sun Protection: Polarized Sunglasses, hat, and sunscreen.
- Valid Fishing License: Essential for participation.
- Completed Waiver
What's Included:
- Expert Guidance: Knowledgeable guides with extensive local experience.
- Equipment: High-quality rods, reels, and flies. Waders, boots, walking staff.
- Meals: Lunch provided on full-day guided trips, with gourmet options available.
- Transportation: From the outpost to the fishing sites.
Refund and Cancellation Policy:
- Cancellation by Client: If a client cancels within 30 or more days before the trip, a full refund of the deposit
is offered, minus any administrative fees. Cancellations within 10 days of the trip result in the forfeiture of the deposit.
- Cancellation by Company: If the company cancels the trip (due to weather, safety concerns, or other
reasons), clients may reschedule. No refunds are offered, but the trip may be transferred.
- Weather-Related Cancellations: Wahoo’s Adventures offer rescheduling or partial refunds, at our
discretion, if the trip is shortened or affected by weather.
Weather Policy:
- Safety First: The safety of our guests and staff is paramount. Trips will be rescheduled or canceled in the event of severe weather conditions such as lightning storms, extreme winds, or flood potential; any weather that poses a safety risk.
- Rain Policy: Light to moderate rain does not typically hinder fly fishing and can often be advantageous. However, heavy rain leading to unsafe river conditions (like high water levels or fast currents) will necessitate rescheduling.

Weather Monitoring: We closely monitor weather forecasts and conditions. Decisions regarding trip alterations due to weather will be made as early as possible, ideally the day before the scheduled trip.

Temperature Guidelines: Trips will be postponed or canceled if the temperature is forecasted to be below 40°F, especially during the November – March period, to ensure the comfort and safety of our guests.
- Rescheduling and Cancellations: In the event of a weather-related cancellation, guests will have the option to reschedule their trip to a later date or receive a full refund. We will work closely with our guests to find suitable alternatives.
- Guest Discretion: If a guest feels uncomfortable with the weather conditions, they are encouraged to contact us at least 24 hours before the trip to discuss rescheduling options.
- Partial Weather Conditions: If weather conditions change during a trip, resulting in a shortened experience, at Wahoo’s discretion Wahoo’s will offer a pro-rated refund or the option to reschedule the remaining time.
- Communication: We will ensure timely and clear communication with our guests regarding any weather-related changes to their scheduled trips.
