Christina Fryzel

Christina is the co-owner and operator of Wahoo’s Adventures, a family-owned outdoor adventure company that has been helping guests experience the rivers of the High Country since 1978. With years of hands-on experience in river tubing, family-friendly whitewater rafting, group trips, guest service, and seasonal outdoor recreation, Christina brings a practical, personal perspective to every Wahoo’s blog post. She loves sharing and supporting local businesses, schools, and community partners, including Wahoo’s ongoing support of Appalachian State University, the company’s partnership with the Recreation Department, and the interns Wahoo’s welcomes each year. Through these partnerships, Christina enjoys helping develop young leaders in the outdoor recreation industry and the local community, while also helping guests discover great places to eat, shop, explore, and enjoy as they plan the perfect outing in Boone, Todd, Banner Elk, Blowing Rock and the surrounding High Country. Most of all, Christina enjoys helping families, friends, students, youth groups, and travelers create easy, memorable days on the river where they can unplug, reconnect, and enjoy the natural beauty of the New River and Watauga River.

Daisy Duchess

Daisy Duchess "Daisy Duke" is the beloved weekend mascot at Wahoo’s New River Outpost, where she happily greets guests, keeps an eye on the riverfront, and adds a little extra tail-wagging joy to summer days on the New River. Known for her sweet personality and laid-back river dog charm, Daisy loves being part of the Wahoo’s family and welcoming visitors as they arrive for tubing, picnics, and time together outdoors. When she’s not soaking up attention from guests, she can usually be found relaxing nearby, enjoying the fresh mountain air, and reminding everyone that a day on the river is even better with a happy dog around.
