on the Watauga River
Watauga River's fast-moving waters and gentle rapids offer the ideal setting for even the smallest of children and non-swimmers alike. Our tour is geared toward first-timers, and provides the entire family a safe, fun day of sharing the great outdoors. Older children have the choice of riding self-bailing rafts or funyaks, while the smallest ride with the security of a guide in a raft, half and full day tours with the options of our famous deli buffet or BBQ catering for private parties.

High Adventure Rafting
on the Nolichucky River
Ranked one of the top whitewater runs in the nation, river rafting trips on the Nolichucky River offer 11 miles of spectacular scenery with some of the most challenging rapids in the Eastern United States! Floating through the Pisgah and Cherokee National Forest, you'll enjoy the rugged beauty of the Nolichucky's sheer rock walls, lush, thickly forested mountains and steep, turbulent rapids in the deepest canyon of the East! During high water conditions we use self-bailer type rafts. In lower water levels, a combination of small rafts and funyaks offer the best ride. Either way, the Nolichucky is a full day of adventure and fun with our famous gourmet deli buffet meal!

Extreme Class V Rafting
on Wilson Creek Gorge
Dropping over a Class V 10 foot waterfall into the surging white froth is a river rafting adventure that's not for everyone, but anyone who is in good condition with a strong positive attitude can experience the ultimate thrill of going over the edge! Your day begins with a clinic focusing on control and technique. After skills are tested, the real fun begins, rapid after rapid! This extreme whitewater rafting trip is only available in the Spring and early Summer at high water levels. Wahoo's Adventures limits trip size to maintain the highest level of quality.

Russell Fork Gorge... Extremely Extreme!
Weekends in October offer some of the most extreme rafting in the country with big rapids in El Horendo, with over a 25 foot total drop. Nothing else compares. (Definitely not for the timid.)
