New River Canoeing

New River Kayaking, Canoeing, Innertubing and Caving Adventures

The New River is the second oldest river in the world, and its gentle water flow makes it the ideal setting for canoeing, even for the first timer. It's also the perfect place for swimming and picnicking. The New River offers excellent fishing and is the perfect river for a family picnic. For the more adventurous, this part of Tennessee (TN) and North Carolina (NC) offers opportunities for caving and whitewater adventure. Wahoo's has 3, 5, and 7 hour tours. Overnight tours are available on request.

Inner-Tubing
There's nothing like splashing and floating down a crystalline mountain river in an innertube! Wahoo's now brings that family adventure back to life! We've scouted out a wide variety of whitewater and calmwater scenic floating areas that assure safety and family fun! Our tours can be 1 hour to 6 hours long, and include transportation to the river back, life jacket, innertube, instruction, and optional picnic. (We also offer a 'coolertube' so you can carry your own cooler with drinks and eats!)

Caving
Climb down into the depths of a subterranean world, explore the very bowels of the Blue Ridge. Our expert cavers will lead you through narrow passages and crawl you through tight squeezes, all with a lunch by candlelight! (By the way, cave temperatures average 58 degrees year-round!) Let's go down under!
